MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CHARMOUTH NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN STEERING GROUP HELD AT MELBOURNE HOUSE, CHARMOUTH, ON 19TH MAY 2021 AT 1.00PM 

Present:  Andy Bateman (Chair), Sarah Edwards, Tim Sheward, Eden Thomson

The Chairman reminded members of the requirement under the Terms of Reference to declare any interest in any item on the agenda or in any topic that arises during the meeting.

Preparation for the CPC Special Meeting on Tuesday 25th May in relation to the Neighbourhood Plan

AB went through the items on the CPC agenda, which starts with an update on the progress and process of the NP during the past 14 months, under the constraints imposed by Covid-19.  The main documentation produced during this period – the Consultation Summary Statement, Basic Conditions Statement and amended Charmouth Neighbourhood Plan – have all been provided to CPC in advance.  Recent alterations to the Plan are highlighted for easy reference.  There is also a Briefing Paper, which summarises the key issues and the changes made to policies during the latest revision.

It was agreed that AB would lead the presentation, starting with a reminder of the purpose of a Plan and how this Plan (if approved) will form the background to the CPC’s future planning decisions. ET and TS will cover points arising from their areas of expertise.

Next steps – if Plan approved

It was agreed that if the CPC approves the Plan the next steps will be:

AB to update the website by uploading remaining documents

AB to send letters to relevant landowners and asset owners

SE to post news of Plan on Charmouth facebook page

Article for Shoreline to be submitted by 1st July

Schedule of relevant organisations that have been consulted during pre-submission stage to be updated by AB and sent to Nick Cardnell.

CPC to submit the documentation to Dorset Council so they can organise the consultation.
