SHOPS /SERVICES

The opinions and the attitudes to services in this survey differ very little from the survey of 1990

The most regularly used services in the village are the post office and the newsagent. These are used by approximately 85% of the households.

The Lyme Medical Practice set up a surgery in Charmouth in 1998 and a dentist practice in 2000, 83% of the households in the survey belong to or another of the two doctors in the village. 48% are patients of the new dentist. The public library is regularly used by 154 or 51% of the households and occasionally by 77 of the households.

The chemist was not included in the list of shops/service for which we have apologised.104 returns commented on this fact and several commented on the excellent service.
