CHARMOUTH VILLAGE
APPRAISAL 2002
SUMMARY OF THE RESPONSES
The object of
the questionnaire circulated throughout the village was to provide the
opportunity for residents to express their views on a variety of local issues
relevant to the quality of life within the community. The information will be of
especial worth in the creation of a village plan for the future,
Although the
survey was largely of multiple choice questions, opportunity was provided for
the respondent to elaborate on their points of view. As many of the responses
were similar in view, these were noted as single entry in the summary with the
number of responses within the sections.
The responses
showed a divergence of views on many of the questions, but there was a
concentration of opinions reflecting a “middle view” on most subjects. Even
though only 48% responded to the survey, it was felt that this would provide a
consensus from which a community opinion could be estimated, and provide the
basis for future parish initiatives.
Please note:
For a comparison with the previous village survey< the totals for the 1990
survey are entered in green print.
